Pain still peeks through

Pain still peeks through

in tiny tears

That I will not let fall

rainbows that rest

on eyelids

trembling

remembering

what started it all.

It was a comfort to see an old colleague

but I was on the wrong side....

We should have been helping someone else, together

working in the ambulance

Not me needing

his help

taking that long, short ride.

lights flashing in the night

shadows maybe hide the tears

Feeling for a moment

the brotherhood lost

found once more in a moment of compassion

and then realizing again

for so long now

its been the end.
